EUREKA Day 2012

EUREKA is a pan-European collaborative R&D network that was established in 1985 by 18 Europeans countries, with the aim to create a market-oriented industrial R&D network in a response to the Shift of industrial research to China and the U.S.Currently EUREKA counts 39 full members that are European countries. They collectively decide the endorsement of projects and determines the direction of EUREKA at quarterly EUREKA conferences. In 2009 Korea became the first Asian and currently the only non-european ‘associated country’ member of EUREKA. EUREKA promotes the diversity of projects and accelerates new technology development by encouraging voluntary cooperation among industry, academia, and research communities and pursues a market-oriented direction through its bottom-up approach to project generation.
